WE CREATE BUSINESS BUILDING STRATEGIES THROUGH CUSTOMIZED INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SOLUTIONS
Trey is an intellectual property attorney whose practice includes business law, securing all types of intellectual property for clients, and music artist representation. He began his legal career as a patent attorney leveraging his mechanical engineering background to draft and prosecute patents for mechanical devices ranging from relatively simple devices, such as roof racks for SUVs and arterial stents, to complex machinery, including heavy machines for production lines, drilling and casing equipment for oil rigs, and adaptive vehicle suspensions. That technical foundation continues to inform his approach to intellectual property matters across all areas of his practice.
Today, Trey’s practice focuses primarily on business law, trademark law, music artist representation, and intellectual property enforcement. On the business side, he counsels clients through early-stage capital raising, business contract drafting and negotiation, corporate formation and governance, and franchising matters. He works closely with entrepreneurs and growing companies to build sound legal foundations from the ground up.
His trademark practice encompasses the full lifecycle of brand protection, including conducting comprehensive trademark searches, prosecuting trademark applications before the USPTO, and enforcing trademark rights against infringers.
Trey also represents music artists across a range of legal needs, including clearing songs for release, registering works with performance rights organizations, and negotiating contracts for clients. His work in this space helps artists protect and monetize their creative output while navigating an increasingly complex digital landscape.
In the area of intellectual property enforcement, Trey assists brand owners and rights holders in removing infringing products from online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, and Etsy. He also helps clients develop tailored strategies to effectively manage and enforce their rights on an ongoing basis.
Beyond his work for clients, Trey is an active voice in the entrepreneurial community. He speaks to entrepreneur and startup founder groups on legal topics ranging from entity formation and early-stage fundraising to intellectual property protection and contract fundamentals. He also leads closing calls for angel investment groups, guiding investors through the final stages of deal execution.
